Ascent Therapy Services

Welcome to Ascent Therapy Services, where we focus on treating the whole person, and tailor your treatment to your needs. We have counselors for individuals of all ages, couples, and families. Our online therapy practice is based in Baltimore, MD, and West Palm Beach, FL for US-based clients, but we also have therapists available for English-speaking expats in foreign countries.

Since many of our counselors are expats themselves, we are uniquely qualified to provide therapy for expats who may be struggling with living in a foreign country. We provide depression and anxiety therapy, grief counseling, treatment for women’s health, as well as trauma therapy using trusted therapeutic modalities.

Our therapists will meet you where you are in your mental health journey, and help you see the potential for what the future could bring. It’s our job to help you recognize the strengths and abilities you already have to aid you in this process while helping you build life-long mental health tools to thrive.

I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C).

As a humanistic therapist, I come to each session with unconditional positive regard for my clients. That means that you don't have to do anything but be yourself in our sessions. I believe that clients have the right and ability to achieve self-determination. I will encourage you to decide your goals for therapy and travel with you on your mental health journey.

I work through a cognitive psychology lens, believing that our brains are the most powerful organ in our body and that our thoughts are the foundation for our behaviors and emotions. I utilize eclectic techniques during therapy drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Therapy

During sessions, I strive to create a safe space for you to be who you are. Being perfectly imperfect is what makes me a great therapist as I like to think it gives my clients the freedom and confidence to be perfectly imperfect too. Remember, everyone makes mistakes—that's why pencils have erasers!

I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland.

My philosophy as a clinical psychologist focuses on building a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients and understanding their unique needs and goals. I maintain a client-centered approach and strive to meet my clients where they are in their mental health journey to promote trust, a feeling of safety, and the ability to make positive changes. I am a specialist in the treatment of eating disorders, depression, and anxiety disorders, and have training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD as well.

I bring enthusiasm and compassion to my work as a mental health specialist for those in the Baltimore, MD area and around the world, and see my clients as the experts on themselves. We can use that framework to build a strong working relationship built on strength, confidence, and trust that the process can help you thrive. From the onset of our therapeutic relationship, we will work together to set goals and incorporate psychoeducation and skills training to help you succeed. I like to think I also bring my sense of humor along for the ride as well as my bubbly personality in my therapeutic work. I’d love to work with you!

I am the owner and CEO of Ascent Therapy Services and have a BA in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

I have a passion for supporting people in their mental health journey. With nearly 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and human services space, I have found great fulfillment in focusing on improving people's lives no matter their background.

While I am not a therapist, I have received great benefits from mental health practitioners during different points of my life. The support from those great therapists who have helped me work through those challenges has inspired me to give that same experience to others and I am grateful to be able to do that with our practice.
